[Kal-El seems to be posting from a cafe in the water sector, judging by his surroundings. A cafe that has seen better days. Kal's face makes it obvious he wasn't expecting the cafe to be in such a state when he got there, seeing all this go on without being able to help is really hitting him hard.]

Superman here. I'm aware the rationing is the hot topic nowadays but there isn't... much I can do about that. I will do my best to help out Roger's food bank and if anyone needs me to do so don't hesitate to contact me but for now you will have to forgive me for deviating from the topic.

This last month I have noticed a lot of foreigners that happened to have powers with them that were... not sure what to do with them at best, outright scared of them at worse. I want to help with that.

I am a super-powered being myself, we are called 'metahumans' in my world. I was thinking maybe there should be some kind of... way for us to meet, to talk about our problems. To train each other if our powers are similar, to help us out when it's needed. I'm not sure where I was going with this but that... well, that was my suggestion.

[A little shrug and a smile] I would like to hear people's opinion in it?

[Bean shrugs.] I've seen anti-grav technology before, though never on a personal level.

[After Kal-El delivers the results, Bean stares at his stomach as though he can see inside himself.] Oh. I see.

[Kal flies and crouches in front of him.] Something tells me you already knew about this though.

I knew there was something. [He shakes himself out of his reverie.] I've heard people say I wasn't human, because of this. Because I was made this way.

Everyone has differences on their DNA, son. Of course you are human- one only has to take a look at you.

[But he knows that's not enough. He looks pretty much humanoid and he's an alien, not human in the least.]

Like I said the difference is minimal. And it was obviously beneficial, seeing how smart you are. [He doesn't know the cons of this, but he's sure there will be. Playing with genetics is never a smart move- but that will be dealt with when the time comes.]

So I shouldn't believe them. [He says it mostly to himself. Then, looking up at Kal.]

You shouldn't. You are human, you are simply also a metahuman. Do you have any idea what these modifications entail?

Not entirely. My cognitive processes developed early, I learn languages quickly and easily, I have an eidetic memory, and I'm just generally smarter than anyone I've ever met. I don't know what the extents of that are, though.

[Kal nods, mentally noting them down with his own eidetic memory. It sounds like too good of a modification to be true, but if that's what the kid knows he'll go with it.]

Do you want to know the extents? To test them?

How would you propose doing that? [Bean had his fill of tests before and during Battle School, but he's curious.]

I don't know, I guess the easiest one to test would be the eidetic memory. Do you know if it works better long term or short term?

Both are equally good. I remember exactly what you said on the Net earlier just as easily as I remember my first memories. [Well maybe not just as easily. He was only eight or nine months old in his memories from the clean place.]

[He gives him an impressed nod.] Not many people can say that.

Still I would like to test it.

Literally what you heard, the turtle went underwater for a while. It didn't seem like a big deal at first since the barrier kept up and we were allowed to breathe, and all the Kedan seemed to act like it was a normal occurrence.

Then we were suddenly surrounded by what seemed like underwater zombies. ...Do you know what a zombie is?

A reanimated corpse, stemming from Haitian houdou legends. A mythical, or in this case, not so mythical horror villain.

Worth of a dictionary. [Said with a grin but it quickly fades.]

Some of the foreigners... we lost them during the attack, but later they came back. It was overall pretty dangerous. [Bean looks like the kind of kid that doesn't like having anything hidden from them, so he doesn't. One of the foreigners that died was Dick, who's like a son to him... it was pretty hard on everyone.]

[Bean squints.] What do you mean they came back?

[He opens his mouth then closes it again, thinking how to word it. He wouldn't even trouble a kid with it, but Bean is definitely not the usual kind of kid.]

We have reasons to believe we're... clones. Do you know what that is?

Yes. [But in case he desires confirmation:] Scientifically created, genetically identical living copies.

I have heard this theory before. So you believe we are just copies of our real selves, with memories and thoughts implanted?
