[ So, Roy hasn't been around that long, but he's gotten to know Keeliai, the natives, heard about the Emperor and definitely picked up on the tension between foreigners and the Kedan, but just out right asking about What The Hell Is Wrong With This Place seems a little too obvious. And lame.

And this way is much more fun. ]

Okay so is there a part of living on the back of a giant magic turtle that isn't supposed to be completely awesome? Because a lot of you seem to be really bummed about it, and I'm starting to think it's more than just a strong case of Stick Up The Ass going around.

[ And frankly, Roy likes looking like the idiot. He raises up a hand holding some kind of Kedanian smoothie in the cafe he's seated in, and gives an 'okay, humor me' kind of gesture. ]

Let's pretend for two seconds that you're all actually the most boring people ever and the part where we're on a monster turtle isn't enough for you - you're getting what's practically a free vacation. A beautiful city on a tropical island that's really more like a cruise, and even a space you can go sit near Yurtle's massive head and zen your neurotic brains out. The closest we have to that at home is legalizing pot.

I know I'm inviting a sea of sarcastic quips to kill my buzz about the whole badass Suessical adventure, so let's try to be organized and civil about this - there's only so much scathing sardonicism I can handle at once. Please fill out the attached form and get back to me:
Your Name: Self explanatory.
Your Age: It'd probably explain some things, I'm jussayin.
Level of Suck of Your Homeworld: On a scale of Fantasia to Bambi. Just trying to keep some perspective.
Your Complaints About Our Magical Turtle Adventure: Let it all out, brothers and sisters. Testify.
Notes: Whatever. How's my hair?

Thank you for your participation! Here is a wavier for your free snow cone! Not really. Sorry.
[ Oh wait, just this last piece here: ] Also, if you know anyone who likes to run around in tights and a mask, maybe a cape, let me know? Thanks! [ A little salute, and he signs out. ]

[[ ooc; If you could, please fill out his permissions post ova hurr, and here's the html for his little questionnaire thing :>

[It is as he expected. The cheerful response somehow makes him feel more off balance. So unlike the Roy he knows. Still, it would be rude and selfish to put such expectations on him.]

In Atlantis, whether you have reached maturity is more important than your specific age. I am considered of age to my people. [Young and still in need of guidance, but old enough to make choices of his own and to serve his kingdom.]

I am sure others would be greeting you were they not...responding to your own questions directly. Those like us here have shown themselves to be helpful and welcoming when given the chance.

[Did he sound like he had been scolding him?] I apologize. I was not intending to reprimand, only point out that people often focus on one task when given the option of several.

And yes, I do mean that Atlantis. I take it you are familiar with the one of your own world?

Ah...thank you. [He is not sure whether that was a compliment or merely a statement of fact.]

Most do not know whether an Atlantis even exists in their world, so I would consider that as familiar enough. It is not a place one can simply visit for an evening. [He specifically chooses not to comment on his mention of Aquaman.]

[The accent is a little strange, but he can tell it's an attempt at humor.] I work on the mainland often yes, but I try to return home most of the time. It does not take as long to get to Atlantis as some might think.

[Wally and Robin have attempted, but certain mermaid movies were avoided.] The kingdom is very spread out, but much of it is to the east of the United Stated, if that is what you mean. We are not simply one city-state.

Unlikely. [There is a soft smile on his face.] It is too deep for normal humans to travel to without being crushed by the pressure.

[Roy's enthusiasm is somewhat amusing. He is so different from the Roy Harper that Kaldur knows.] A submarine would still likely not withstand the pressure of the bottom of the ocean floor. Giant squid are also quite pleasant when you respect their territorial boundaries. It is no different than respecting an elephant or a lion's domain.

[This throws him off a bit and he stares at Roy with confusion.]

I am not certain that my people would appreciate such an intrusion into their lives. But...I do agree that better understanding of the beings that live in the sea may open better communication on the ecological effect that can be caused by carelessness.
