[Wanda learned years ago how to hide her true feelings behind a calm, almost bored expression. She knew how to control her body language to seem relaxed when she wasn't, and how to rely on subtle nuances of tone to get her point across. So it's not difficult to hide the anxiousness and tension she feels in her Water sector suite. She's separated from her brother, really separated, for the first time in her life, and also from the team she's come to trust and rely on. In some ways, she even considered them her friends.

Lips pursed, she flips on the console in her suite and leans back in her chair, by all appearances entirely unruffled by her current circumstances. Dressed in her Ultimates uniform, she crosses one leg over the other and periodically takes sips from the glass of water in her hand.

Those familiar with her alternate universe counterpart might notice a striking resemblance to the Scarlet Witch they know. Though she's at least ten years younger, her hair darker and straighter, and her uniform entirely different, her face and bearing are remarkably similar.]

As it seems highly unlikely that our hosts have provided full and completely honest details about our situation here, I'd appreciate any insight you all may have, or information they may have neglected to to give me during their orientation.

[After a brief pause she continues, though the words are completely foreign to Wanda.]

Wanda's eyes narrow in response, not recognizing him but certainly not pleased by that greeting. It's a shock, compared to all the others, and it puts Wanda on guard even more than before.]

I'm probably the only sane one here for thinking you just walking around like it's not big deal is anything but okay. I just want to make sure you're not thinking about nearly wiping out your entire species again.

If you think you're so different from the Wanda I remember, then this won't be a problem.

[He talks big but it's all fueled by fear, fear of her, fear of what she can do. It's hard not to snap back at him, the way she might have when she was still part of the Brotherhood, when she still had a reputation to maintain. But she hasn't worked hard all this time with the Ultimates to throw it all away, and his fear is weakness, as far as she's concerned.

Torn between pride and what it means to be part of the Ultimates, she waits a beat before responding.]

You're pinning the crimes of another woman on a stranger, one who for all you know shares only a name and power with this woman. Save your scared bleating for someone who's actually issued a threat.

[Hell yeah, he's afraid of her. Just three little words from her nearly ended his species. It'd probably only take one for her to end him if she felt like it. For all his strength and posturing, for all the belief he has that he's invulnerable to just about anything, Wanda could destroy him with a snap of her fingers...

[And she'll decide just who poses a threat.]

[He's a guy made of rocks... He definitely isn't a threat to her.]

[She laughs, harsh and derisive. That's what she thinks of your threat, Santo.]

Now you know, so I'll save you the necessity stumbling out of this conversation gracelessly.

[With a can't of her head, almost a good bye gesture, she cuts the feed.]

So what? Does that mean she's any less dangerous than the original? [Meaning his universe's. No offense, Wanda... Here at least.] Should I just forget what she did and just be friends with this one like nothing happened?

You say that like I don't know what she did, or what the X-Men wanted her dead for. Or you know, saw her restoring Rictor's powers. We didn't let Cyclops give the real Scarlet Witch a death sentence and I'm not about to let you do this to someone who has nothing to do with our universe.

That was one mutant, and she couldn't do any better than that, and it sure as hell doesn't make up for the millions that lost their powers, the ones that disappeared because of that loss, my friends who were killed because of her, and the ones that died because of the events she made possible to happen.

I'm not going to try to kill her. Scott fucking Summers might have forgotten what it means to be an X-Man, but we don't kill. That doesn't mean that I ever have to be okay with her and smile and act like everything is okay with her being here.

You don't understand what she did to mutants and you never will, so stay the hell out of my face unless you want yours broken.

Yeah, because the X-Men isn't full of murderers and terrorists but somehow their crimes are forgiven and forgotten. I mean, geez, they let Magneto join, and he's killed thousands. [He has the best relatives :|a] Wolverine, Rogue, Emma Frost. I can keep going.

[Santo forces a sigh. He wants to yell more, he wants to punch something or just explode until he feels any semblance of "better. But it's not going to happen.]

I almost kind of want her to... But fine. I'll back off of her for now, but you better keep the word "mutant" off her lips, because I'm not going to lose any more people because she's too crazy to control herself.

You still let him on and acted like his crimes meant nothing. And it doesn't change the fact that half the X-Men and the Avengers were on the wrong side of the law in one way or another. You know she wants to pay for her crimes, right? She's trying to make things right. And doesn't want people to think that 'sorry' is gonna fix everything. Because it won't and she knows it.

[He scrunches his nose up and bites his tongue. He want to keep arguing with Santo, but he knows getting into a fight with him would probably end badly for him. Getting punched in the face with a boulder wasn't exactly on his bucket list, but he's not just gonna sit and watch him blame someone for something they didn't do. Especially not when it's a version of his mother.]

[Well, if Wanda ever wondered if Tommy was related, his immediate defense proves he's inherited something from his uncle.]

As much as I appreciate your intentions, I can handle myself against people like him. Don't pit yourself against him for my sake.
