[ The image of a rather ordinary, unremarkable looking man fills the screen. He’s clean-shaven, wearing a pair of black-framed glasses, and he’s got brown hair, cut short and though it’s a little messy, there’s something about it that suggests that it had been styled at one point earlier in the day. He’s just slightly disheveled, which those familiar with the comings and goings of individuals to Keeliai might recognize as a sign of a new arrival. ]
So this is… [ There’s a moment of silence, as he trails off and glances away from the camera. ] …different.
[ It only lasts for a second, before he looks back and rolls his eyes. ]
The whole—I mean, well… Whatever.
[ He takes a deep breath, lets it out, and pulls himself together. ]
Right, okay. I was given a place to live but no job, and I’m guessing that it isn’t free rent forever. So if there’s, I don’t know, a job center? Help wanted ads? Some turtle world version of Craigslist? Something? Could someone point me in the right direction?

[ Jack suspects this is something that will go way over his head but he's interested anyway. His voice tightens a little when Justin mentions weapons. ]
There's not a lot of technology here, barring the satellite junk that just about burned the city down. The consoles are a good idea to look at first, but fair warning 'cause some other guy tried to take one apart and apparently it melted into purple goop.
Anything I can carry and still fly, mostly. I help the shopkeepers out by bringing things back and forth to the shops in other sectors for their work.

[ That's the best Justin can do to explain it without going into hadrons and quarks and fermionic vibrations. ]
So you can't take the consoles apart without them melting? Kind of like a security measure, it sounds like. Maybe if—Wait, fly? You can fly? Really?

[ Because nothing says immortal winter spirit like that. ]
Hm? Yeah, with the Wind. Not on my own though. But they were able to find me here so it's been all right.

No silly, they're not my Winds! They're regular winds, the four Cardinal ones. The North Wind and I have been friends as long as I can remember.
[ Is your brain broken yet Justin? ]
no subject
You're friends with the North Wind? Like the actual wind? Do you—Do you talk?
no subject
[ Jack may be enjoying this conversation a little too much. ]
Yes, the Wind talks but just in sounds rather than words.
no subject
That's... That's kind of beyond me. The ability to do that, I mean.
no subject
Hey, don't worry about it. You're actually taking this whole thing pretty well! If the Wind really needs to tell you something, I'll translate for you. Gotta do something in the off season.
no subject
What do you usually talk about? You and the wind, I mean.
no subject
[ Jack hmm'd thoughtfully at the question. ]
Well... the Wind hears a lot more than people can, so sometimes just telling about things its come across that it finds interesting. I get a lot of my stories that way.
no subject
[ This is probably a stupid idea. Most of Justin's ideas these days are. But he can't resist asking anyway. ]
Maybe we could do like a group thing. You know, all of us tell stories. I'll tell you and the wind about the whales. And you guys can tell me some stories.
no subject
[ He's totally planning to ask around now for people to participate. ]

[ Apparently that's new for him. ]
But I remember listening to Flash Gordon on the radio in the 30's!
no subject
[ After he says it, he really shouldn't be surprised. So was Captain America and look where he is now. ]
Let me guess. Frozen in the ice, right?
no subject
[ But the reference catches him off guard, given its ironic accuracy. ]
Huh--? Not... exactly in the ice. Wait, if you knew who I was then how come you didn't say anything?
no subject
[ Justin blinks, confusion written all over his face. ]
I don't know who you are. Other than a guy that can fly and talk to the wind. Which, you know, is actually really cool. Weird, but cool.
no subject
Okay, time out. Maybe I should just introduce myself. Hi, I'm Jack Frost, it's nice to meet you.
no subject
[ It's possible it's just a name. The name of a guy who has a thing for ice, talks to the wind, and can fly.
Right. ]
Do you nip at peoples' noses?
[ That's not actually what he was going to say, but sometimes his mouth slips the leash his brain puts on it. ]
no subject
But the answer is no, not literally. Unless someone shows up here made of candy, because that's different piece of hail.
no subject
[ Okay, that just sounds stupid. How does he get himself into these conversations? ]
Sorry. Still kind of new to the whole... everything. I hate when people ask me stupid crap like that too. So, yeah. Sorry.
no subject
It's okay, really! It wasn't stupid at all, it was having fun. Trust me, that's not something I'm ever going to take lightly.
[ But he will at least try to get their conversation back on track. ]
Did you need anything that you haven't found since you've got here, other than a job?
no subject
[ Justin hasn't had fun in ages, between work and his former obsession with Iron Man suits and jail. But he'd like to now that he's away from all of that if at all possible. ]
Probably, but not yet. I mean, I've got enough to be getting on with for now.
no subject
Yeah, fun's definitely okay here. It's a thing.
[ You may have just earned yourself +1 (thus far invisible) Guardian lookout for a little while with a remark like that because who has to ask permission for fun? ]
All right. If you change your mind or there's something you think of, you can let me know.
