It's = It is

The ' is where you dropped the letters.

do not = don't
will not = won't (that one's dumb too)
cannot = can't
I am = I'm
he/she is = he's/she's
you are = you're
we are = we're
they are = they're

and so on

It's for showing ownership, too.

my house = Nita's house
your shoes = Cora's shoes

Except you could write "Nita is going to the store" as "Nita's going to the store."

There are a lot of things to remember. :(
