[Here's a familiar face that hasn't shown up on the network in a while now. Santo is hanging out in front of the monitor, still flexing his hand and making sure that he can move it without any problems. He's still to afraid to try to reassemble himself.]

Hey, nerds! Long time, no see!

Do you wanna know what really sucks? I'll tell you anyway. It's being totally unable to move, so you're stuck on a couch for weeks without any TV to watch. I mean, come on, there's aren't even any old episodes of Law & Order to kill time with.

None of you probably get that though, since you were off having adventures and saving turtles or whatever. Lucky jerks.

Anyway, I've been bored forever now, and really need some kind of entertainment. Anybody wanna spar and see if I die when I break apart? Come on, it'll be fun on a bun.

Or, you know, tell me a story about what's been going on here. Or something from your home. I'm totally good for anything. I mostly just want to make sure everyone isn't dead, so check in, guys. You know... The important ones... Which is everybody, cool?

[He starts to shut off the feed, but then stops for a moment, looking a bit unsure.]

Oh, and... Witch- I mean, Wanda? There's something I need to talk to you about. I kind of meant to do it a while ago, but... Yeah, forced to become a couch boulder.

The Atlanteans weren't the most social. Other than Namor and Crosta, they really didn't come up to Utopia. We left Utopia though.

Who's Crosta?

[She doesn't recognize the name from the Council or anything.]

He's a classmate of mine and Santo's. An Atlantean mutant. He was kind of a jerk at first but he's warmed up to us all.

An Atlantean was kind of a jerk? I'm shocked.

[By which she means "not shocked."]

[Victor gives a little laugh.]

Yeah but he had actual reason to be a jerk so we let it slide.

Atlantis...well, we're not too big on non-conformists, as a rule.

[It's her home and she'll defend the place to the death, but she's certainly not blind to its faults.]

[He nods.]

Namor kinda forced him to come join the X-men despite him wanting to go to live with his father or even stay with his mother. And if non-conformity is really that bad...well, his mutation makes him look pretty different from the majority of Atlanteans.

They call our skin "fishbelly"...not so much to our faces, though--

[Wait, he did what?]

Namor stepped into a custody battle?

[She can count the number of fucks he generally gives about things like that on no hands.]

He looks even more different. He's about as different looking from the average Atlantean as Santo and I are from the average human.

Well, from what Crosta told us...Namor stepped in and made it worse.

Namor is the king, and if Crosta's your age, he'd have had to start his military service in a few years anyway.

[Nita's from an absolute monarchy. Namor being high-handed doesn't bother her.]

The weird part is Namor even knowing about it. Maybe it was on his radar 'cause Crosta's a mutant.

He's better off with us then.

[He shrugs.]

Crosta said his father brought the whole thing to Namor's attention personally but that's all I know.

[Crosta's father did what.]

Great Neptune's trident, I can't believe he thought that was a good idea. Any citizen can petition the king, but Namor really doesn't like having his time wasted.

[She flops back in her seat.]

I bet his dad thought Namor would want him for the legions.

You'd probably need to ask him or Namor about that. If Crosta ever shows up here, I'll be sure to introduce him to you though. I'm pretty sure he's a fan.

[Nita never experienced all the things she did for Atlantis during the 90s, and she's used to being even more vastly overshadowed by Namor at home than on the surface.]

I'm think so, yeah.

Huh.

[Her Sub-Mariner-sized ego is based almost entirely on an inherent sense of her own worth, and the idea of having actual fans as opposed to people who are just attracted to the famous in general is something she doesn't give a lot of thought to.]

Well, if we're ever in the same universe, I'd be happy to meet him. It's too bad I...wasn't around ["was dead"] when he first came to the surface. The transition's kinda rough and I could've given him some tips.

[Victor nods.]

I'm sure he'd appreciate it. And no one'd hold...not being around like that against you.

It...didn't really affect mutants much, from what I've heard. Not like M-Day.

[In a way she'd never admit, she's perversely glad the Sphinx plucked her from when he did--based on what she was able to learn in her short time back on Earth, she'd skipped a whole lot of awful things.]

Yeah...Ms. Frost sent Stark's side packing when they came to the mansion. We had plenty of trouble from O.N.E. and the government though.

[She makes a face. Nita doesn't like Emma, even if she's supposedly a good guy now.]

A lot of things changed.

Yeah. It was right after that whole mess that...well...things started going to hell at the mansion. Worse than usual.

What happened? I know you went to the West Coast, but I was just getting the highlights from old papers and stuff. I didn't have a chance to do more than skim things I missed.

[And she was understandably focused on Civil War.]

The short version of it is that the first mutant baby since M-Day was born and everyone from Marauders to Bishop to a giant killer mutant-eating monster was after it. A bunch of my friends were hurt and nearly killed, something took over O.N.E.'s sentinels and used them to destroy the school.

There was one last huge fight for the baby and it ended with Bishop shooting and killing Professor Xavier...only he didn't die but we didn't find that out until later. Cyclops gave the baby to Cable and told him to jump into the time stream...and then him and Ms. Frost just up and decided there was no more school and no more X-men. And sent us all away...whether we wanted to go or not.

...Oh.

[What else is there to say? "Sorry being a mutant is suffering unless you're filthy rich foreign royalty?"]

That's awful.

[She means it, at least.]

[Victor nods.]

Yeah...that's one word for all of it. And then Cyclops and Frost had the nerve to think we'd all just come running when they called us to California.
