[A broad smile is on Korra’s face when she turns on the video feed. She’s leaning to one side of the chair and looking pleased as punch.]

I’ll be reopening the dojo in the Wood Sector and I need some teachers, mentors, instructors- whatever you want to call yourselves, to teach people that want to learn. Any fighting style will do, but if it’s martial arts; then all the better.

If you’re interested in lessons, get in touch with me here or privately. I don't know how much lessons are going to be yet, but I'll try to keep it low.

[There's a pause where Korra considers her next words and her smile fades a little.]

If you're half as good as Dinah Lance is [Not was.] then I need to talk you.

[Four months of training with Dinah isn't enough for Korra. She wants to dig in further into the various styles she was mastering, and this is the only way she knows of to find someone that can help her do just that.]

I'll be waiting to hear from you. Will you require anything in compensation?

[Korra’s so bad with money and she pauses to think about it, scratching her head.]

I don’t know- how much juulan do you think for a lesson? [~~HELP.~~ Was one juulan too little and was three too much? She has no idea, all her teachers had taught her without any compensation. Of course they did so because she’s the Avatar, but that doesn’t apply here.

She’s so lost at that question and is making a quick mental note to look for a financial type person who’s good with numbers.]

I really don't know, to be honest. Everything I learned was because it had to be done, not out of any interest of mind.

That's pretty much the way I learned. [That got her curious.]

Let's just go with one for now and see how that works out.

That sounds good to me.

And, if I may, why so?

Because I'm the Avatar. I had to learn so I could do my job of keeping the world in balance. [Because that answered everything and didn't leave any questions at all.]

[What.]

Does that title explain how you do so?

[Right. Korra keeps forgetting that not everyone knows what bending is, more so what the Avatar is.]

Back home it does. You see, the Avatar is the only one who can bend all four elements: Earth, Fire, Air, and Water and it’s important to master them. Bending the elements to do what you want takes a certain style, martial arts, and some concentration. So yeah, it does back on my world since the Avatar learns their bending from different masters.

Interesting. I can't imagine how much pressure that must be. Keeping order through martial skill, though - I can understand that.

If you could imagine it, I’d feel really sorry for you. [She says it in humor, but it’s something she means.]

Hey, if it works it works. This may not be my world, but it doesn’t mean I have to stop being who I am.

[Wise words, Korra.]

Have you been able to use your abilities to your satisfaction here?

[The most self-indulged smile came across Korra’s face. If there’s one thing she’s proud and confident of, it’s her bending.]

Ho-oh yeah. [Elements mastered, spiritual self contacted, one with the cosmic energy of the universe; Korra has every reason to answer that question with pride.

According to her.]

…but there was one time where we lost our abilities. [That’s not something she wants to really go into just then. How that affected her is something she only shared with Toph and Jim.]

[Isabeau's curious what that entailed. All of them? Even the martial arts? It was something Tu Vishan-wide, she's sure, but given how much pride Korra takes in hers, she probably shouldn't ask.]

I'm glad you got them back.

You and the rest of the foreigners.

[Beat.]

All of us getting it back I mean, not just me. It took a lot, but we managed to make Asti feel better.

I'm glad to hear it. [Even as foregone a conclusion as it was.]

I can't imagine what that must have been like, especially in addition to losing abilities.

What would you lose? [Curious, Korra leans on her elbow and puts her cheek on his fist.]

Did it consider skills with weaponry as abilities? That and I can use lightning and healing magic.

[Korra shakes her head minutely.]

Nah. But your lightning and healing would be gone. [But she’s not even interested in power loss, aside from her own thoughts on losing them. Instead:]

You’re a healer?

I am, yes. Is there something you need?

No. [She chuckles.] No, not me.

I'm a healer at the Soranik Natu clinic and they could always use more help. Especially from people who have the gift.

I see. Thank you. Who should I talk to?

Bianca Reyes. She's in charge of everything there.
