[ Eames figures this is part of some grand scheme to get back at him. He's never been the kindest chap, so he has no doubts that he's ticked off someone somewhere. He's up against some fine dreamers, the attention of the place -- the authenticity and the details in the world building should make him feel intimidated, but Eames takes this is a gamble. All high stakes with a lot to lose. He doesn't believe the whole situation where they're in a world of Dreams, Death and Living - he figures it's part of the game to lull the mark into a false sense of security by showing him familiar elements.

So Eames will play along until he manages a better picture of what's been painted to him. When the feed turns itself on, Eames looks positively lost. You don't spend so much time pretending to be other people without learning a few tricks yourself, so the act is a solid one. His tone is hesitant. ]

This is a bit much to take in. So I gotta ask - are they known for their honesty? They tellin' us the whole story with being between death and life and dreaming?

I'm not sure that they lie...[ well at least she isn't getting that impression from talking to them. ] they just tend to omit the full truth.

[ There's a brief spark of hesitation. But Eames tries to play it forward, keep his cards close to chest even when all he wants to do is say 'Ariadne?'. There's too much of a risk. This could be a forge, a projection - considering that the Fischer job was his most recent work. ]

[ her brow furrows as she cocks her head to the side, watching him in a silent consideration for a moment. the man may look and sound a hell of a lot like eames (and she wishes it might be) but there is still that chance it's not him. and she really doesn't want to draw any unneeded attention to herself her if she doesn't need to. ]

I've learned that you need to pick and choose the people you trust. And even then, the trust doesn't really matter if you're not open-minded about things.

[ a long sigh and she is rubbing at the back of her neck, carefully thinking out her next few words. ]

[ he smiles back, like he's grateful he isn't being eaten alive. the identity that eames shaped - is that freddy is a banker from london, quiet life. a girlfriend but no wife. very goal oriented. timid and a bit awkward, unless under the influence. it's an alias he's used before. ]

I think there are regularly scheduled days when she's available to anyone who wants to ask her questions or make requests. I only just arrived myself so I haven't gone but that's what I hear. You might want to try the network with your questions first, though. People have been rather helpful, I've found.

[ the voice is certainly familiar. it sounds like cobb's but something is off. christ, first an ariadne look a like and then someone that sounds like cobb. he figures freddy was a safe move. he considers the possibility that the somnacin dosage is so high that they've begun perceiving and creating at the same time. that this could be cobb facing issues of reality ( as with Ariadne ). He takes a moment to reply, as if he needed the time to work out a game-plan. ]

I dunno. Just, the description seems a bit - strange. There's no telling where we could be.

[He should've known. Really, after Cobb showed up, he had to know this was inevitable. It's not so much that Eames is here now that bothers him - he can deal with Eames when he has to. It's that someone is clearly targeting the members of the Fischer team - why, Arthur has no idea yet.

[... There's something about the way he says that name that makes Reid think alias, although there's nothing so overt as definitive proof. There are a great deal of people here who aren't completely honest, either when they introduce themselves or in how they act. And theoretically, Reid can't blame them. It generally isn't someone's first instinct to lie, but in a strange place with (assumedly) no allies? He can understand the need for secrecy. The intent is largely harmless.]

Eames is a bit textbook as far as criminal classes go. He's a pathological liar with sticky fingers and an unrivaled attention to people. It helps in what he does within the dream. The alias is for his protection more than anything. Whomever his captors are, whomever has an agenda over the people involved in the Fischer job don't know - that he knows he's dreaming. ]
