[Percy is in his own suite for once, mostly so that any backlash from this won’t be directed at Annabeth. This attempt is marred a little by the fact that he has her shield on the desk in front of him, but oh well. Unlike his usually cheery face, his expression now is a little drawn, frowning]
Okay, I’m not really sure how to bring this up, so I’m just going to say it. It’s really important – as in, related to all of us being here – so you probably all want to hear this. But it might be upsetting, too? I don’t know how everyone’s going to feel about this, which is why it’s taken a while to come up. But with the palace starting to kidnap people involved off the streets, I think that people should know.
A couple of weeks ago, the underwater barrier went down. I don’t know how or why, but a couple of people were able to get past it and under the turtle itself. There was some kind of facility there that the kedan were taking supplies to, and when we went to have a closer look…
[He pauses for a second, before ultimately deciding to just forge ahead] It was a cloning facility. There were clones there of us – for some reason they were in giant light bulb tanks? I don’t even know. I don’t know if that means that we’re clones, or that they’ve just been making copies or something, but that’s what we found. We would’ve looked for more information, but the kedan decided to blow the whole place up, I guess. [He’s going to neglect to mention Kara’s helping hand with that] Ever since that happened, the new people arriving haven’t been pulled out of the ocean.
[He leans back, hand absently tapping on the edge of Annabeth’s shield] That’s all I know. And now Nita’s been basically kidnapped by the palace. You know, considering that swimming places isn’t exactly a capital offence. [The scowl is more of a glare now, and it kind of becomes apparent that Percy is actually really freaking angry]
So if anyone else wants to find out what the hell is going on – well, you probably shouldn’t talk to me about it, I kind of just painted a giant target on my forehead. But you guys have the information now, so do what you can with it.

[She notes that kind of sad!!] The kedan self-destructed it, remember? Which I think tells us something, too - they'd rather have it destroyed than have anyone else see it. Though I would have liked to see it, too, you know. [As much as its destruction was likely a positive, intellectual curiosity and all that. Even if he'd have understood it much better, and probably solved the whole thing by now.]
[She shakes her head, and her retort doesn't have the same puffed up implications.] No world is ready for that. But I think it's a theory I'd like to get out, somehow.

Aaargh, this is just so frustrating! [and he messes his hair with both hands as he says that] What machine do I need to build to get some answers?!
[And Leo realizes that smoke is rising from his arms, so he takes a deep breath and tries to calm himself before he accidentally burns his suite or something.] Okay, so they don't want us looking at their technology and they might be making an army of clones. But an army for what? Who in the world will they be fighting against? And you mean, you want to tell people about that theory?

[She blows a tuft of hair out of her face, mulling over all the questions and the best ways to answer. She doesn't miss the smoking, but she doesn't remark on it.]
Tell people, like - well, I'm not sure how many foreigners have really considered the idea that the Emperor may be building an army. I didn't until Eva brought it up initially, doubly so now with the cloning facility and possible capabilities. People are mistrustful of the Emperor, have their own theories, and yeah, it's out that we're here to combat a threat, but as for her amassing a large enough army, in every sense of the word - I don't think it's crossed a lot of minds. We're thinking of the threat as a one time thing, maybe something that's coming for the turtle.
What if the threat is just something that weakens Eshai's power? Or something she perceives as a threat? There are other continents, and we have no idea what's there. Bringing up the army notion as a plausibility would send up flags, and with the line we're all already towing, it's risky.
[She means Percy's clone bomb drop, Leo's prison break, and the potential for her own reveal as being in contact and allied with Eva - someone who would gladly overthrow Eshai and Evandau if given the chance.]

And at the mention of risk, he just gives her a shrug, though he is still a bit worried.] Well, what greater danger can we be in anyway, whether you say it to certain people or to everyone or not? I mean if we're trying to get ourselves into trouble then might as well go for gold, right?
