[This is Asami. This is Asami wrapped up like an enchilada in a thick, dark red blanket while she faces the screen. It's her first time with a recording like this—the technology is beyond even the movers Varrick produced—so she proceeds self-consciously.

That isn't to say she wasn't eager to try it out. The tape on the side of her console is indication of that, but it's out of sight of the viewer.]

Well, here I am. I've had some time to think about what I wanted to say, but to be honest I don't even know where to begin.

But we're all comrades here, right? So my name's Asami, and I'm a... [businesswoman? What kind of sales approach is that? She straightens her back.] I'm the chief executive officer of my family's company at home in Republic City. We're known for our automobiles and weaponry, and I have experience with each of our products. Not that I see myself getting comfortable here, but if I can make myself useful in a company running somewhere along those lines, then I think that would be a good place to start.

[She visibly deflates after the spiel, mustering a small smile.] So I guess I'll see you guys around! Go ahead and introduce yourselves if you have time. I think I could use some faces to call familiar.

[Asami feels like a failure for a split second. She couldn't have taken off her blanket for two minutes while making a good first impression?

But she's more taken by his immediate offer to help. Assuming anyone who's anyone here would know about the Enterprise, she goes along with his title, as if it applies to her.]

Oh! Uhm... okay, sure, Commander. That would be really kind of you, actually. What do you do with them?

I find their heat is best put to great effect in the pockets of ones coat, where they might keep fingers from taking a chill if you ever forget to wear gloves.

[ He gives a polite nod. ]

[Talking with Elsa made Korra curious and she checks the rest of the network, banking that there's nothing else going on and she can go back to her workout. But she's so very wrong.

Turning on her video (don't hurt yourself there), Korra's mouth is hanging open for a moment.]

You're here. Asami! You're actually here too! I haven't seen you for months. [Her face is the physical representation of an actual keysmash. Korra's only had four friends her age back home, and now two of them were on Tu Vishan.]

Where did they put you in? [She needs to tell Mako, he rarely does the network thing, and Lin too.]

Korra! I wasn't expecting to see you. I think I'm in Building A of the Metal Sector. [A beat.] Yeah. Where in the world are you?

[As glad as she is not to be alone, she can't really join Korra in her excitement. Then again, she doesn't have months' worth of a history here. Wrapping her mind around that is still hard for her to handle.]

[Kon watches the feed and he's stunned. He knows this face and that voice. He has to try and stop himself from throwing up because she's so animated. And she's there. So before he replies, he takes a breath and collects himself because he knows this can't be the same girl from before.]

I don't think you'll have to worry about getting a job, there's a few companies on the go, kedan run as well as our own people.

You don't say. Is your company responsible for any of the vehicles I've seen on the road here?

[ Just for a moment, Damian's face brightens when he realizes who it is. And then he listens to her words, and the joy dims down. ]

You might be interested in the fact that, while they are expensive to buy, motorcycles can be rented at a reasonable price and decent convenience. They may allow customer modifications, so long as the motorcycle runs properly, after that.

[Funny how his reaction is similar to Damian's; a moment of hey girl turns into a grumpy ugh magic. But he's still going to mention it, hoping for some kind of familiar face effect. And there's no point in saying hey I just met you when this is the second time for him.]

[Asami stares at the words on the screen. Kind of eerie, someone without a face telling her he already knows her. She'll take that with a grain of salt, and she proceeds with caution.]

I really don't know what to tell you. Maybe you're thinking of someone else.

Dunno how much use there are for— [ A beat; then he says the following slower, like it's a completely foreign word to him that he's attempting to pronounce right ] —automobiles around here, but weapons? What kind?

[ Another pause. ]

Though, I haven't seen any reason to use those often, either.

[Why, there's always a use for automobiles, but there's no sense in disputing that now. There's a short beat before her response, because she's looking for an explanation.]

Well, we have what's called a "mecha tank." It's humanoid in a loose sense of the word—essentially it has arms and legs, and you pilot it from the inside. So that's the big contender right there.

I haven't really seen many cars around here...if any, actually. But hey, if we're in a war there's got to be plenty of uses for weapons.

[She clears her throat. Jokes about war might be in bad taste, but it's almost a reflex to avoid actually talking about it.]

...Asami. [Her surprise shows clear on her face, for a moment, before her expression settles again.] When did you get here?

[Korra made Asami aware of Lin's presence here, but she felt as if she might be a bother to Lin if she contacted her without a clear reason. Hey, I'm Asami, remember me? She likes Lin quite a bit, respects her even more, but she also likes to give the Chief her space.

So, it's a pleasant surprise when Lin gets in touch with her. Asami thinks she hears her console ringing with a notice in the other room, and it takes her a minute to get there. She leans over the chair instead of sitting in it, tucking her hair behind her ear.]

Chief Beifong, hey! I was wondering when I'd be able to see you. I got here just a couple days ago.
