Hi. My name’s. Korra. I’m the Avatar.

[There’s an awkward pause before she says her name. The cadence in her words is a bit off, a combination of never using the network before (or not that she can recall) and the unknown expectation of who will answer.]

Some of you may know me, I guess?

[Guh, she hates trying to cover it and just tackles the heart of the message.]

Look. I can’t remember anything since I was ghosted. [Or whatever the hell people are calling it.] Not this city, this turtle, or anyone.

But a doctor said that if I just hang around familiar things and people, even scents, then it might help me remember some things. I just, can’t force myself to remember them. So if you recognize me or know something else that could help I’d be grateful.

[He feels really bad, because he'd been so caught up in his friends arriving from Beacon Hills that he hardly noticed the effects of the curse around him.]

Um. I'm Stiles? We met at Jaime Reyes' tamale party. You promised me you'd teach me martial arts.

[When her attempts at digging for any recognition fail, yet again, Korra gives an apologetic smile/grimace.]

Well, it’s nice to meet you Stiles. I don’t know who Jaime is. [Or even a tamale for that matter.]

I did? [Complete guilt for not knowing that.] The only thing I can remember how to use is bending. Do you know about that?

Yeah, you showed me the bending stuff, which is honestly totally awesome. You have the power of the four elements, which I guess is a good thing to remember how to do, because if you could, you know, light stuff on fire without realizing it that would bad.

I can't do the bending thing, though, if that's what you meant.

Yeah, I don’t think I’d want that happening. Ever. [Even though she doesn’t know the suite too well, it is a pretty nice place. One that she didn’t want to see ruined.]

I guess I can teach you what I do know, but I don’t think it’ll be much right now. Not until I get my memories back.

[She’s not saying if because there has to be a way to jog her memory banks.]

You're gonna get your memories back, Korra. It's gonna be okay. If you want, I could try bopping you over the head with a stick or something until they come back.

I think I like Dr. McCoy's idea a little more. [Please to not be hitting the Avatar’s skull.]

Do you know of a thing or place that might be familiar to me?

[Oh you're no fun. We'd keep the brain damage to a minimum!]

Uh, you'd talked about your gym? Dojo? Like...your studio where you worked out with a lady named Diana. I never got to see it, though. I don't know where it is.

[That gets her to blink a few times and automatically point to the stairs with her thumb.]

The gym upstairs? I just started using it; I mean it feels like I just started using it, I probably used it a lot.

[At least, that’s what she picked up after seeing her definition.]

Their name doesn’t sound familiar either. [All the these names or faces were just piling up in he mind with nowhere to go.]

Oh, Korra. I'm really sorry. This sucks.

Look, uh. Do something to get your mind off this for a while. Go for a long walk. Or, oh! Go up to the turtle's head at the palace. It'll kinda chill you out, maybe?

[That’s another person who mentioned the turtle. Now she knows that the city being on the back of a giant turtle isn’t some kind of weird prank.]

That sounds like it would really help, I need to clear my head. Thanks Stiles.

[Gentle laughter can be heard in her words. There’s too much honesty in Stiles for her to see him as an iffy stranger. Korra gives him a wave before she ends the call. More of them should be like this.]
