[There’s an awkward pause before she says her name. The cadence in her words is a bit off, a combination of never using the network before (or not that she can recall) and the unknown expectation of who will answer.]

Some of you may know me, I guess?

[Guh, she hates trying to cover it and just tackles the heart of the message.]

Look. I can’t remember anything since I was ghosted. [Or whatever the hell people are calling it.] Not this city, this turtle, or anyone.

But a doctor said that if I just hang around familiar things and people, even scents, then it might help me remember some things. I just, can’t force myself to remember them. So if you recognize me or know something else that could help I’d be grateful.

My name is Barnaby Brooks Jr. We haven't formally met before now, so I'm afraid I can't be of much assistance.

[Although Barnaby wouldn't describe himself as an empathetic person, he knows all too well how disorienting it feels to not know where you are, or the people you once called friends.]

If you find out who you were close to before your memory loss, you may have a little luck. Spending extra time with them might jog an unexpected memory.

Any help actually helps, so thank you. I’ve been trying to get used to this suite, but I don’t even know where anything is really. I’m just kind of hunting for things.

[He's still not completely sold on the "different worlds" thing, but he's also on a giant turtle, so he can't really argue with anyone about what is or isn't possible.]

I'm assuming it's the same for you?

Everyone’s telling me that, so I guess…? Last thing I remember was being in front of a fountain. [If someone told her she was from Keeliai instead, she would have believed them.]

Do you know why we’re here? [That’s still a big mystery to her at the moment.]

Apparently, we're expected to wage a war against a creature whose name we're not supposed to say. I haven't seen any fighting, though, so I can't say how trustworthy that story is.

[Wow, had none of her friends really told her? Guess there wasn't much fighting after all. Just one more reason to doubt the story, as far as Barnaby was concerned.]

Believe me, I wish I was.

[That's one very important detail that people either forgot to mention or just assumed she knew. There’s a prolonged pause where she’s just letting that sink in.]

Wow... okay. Thanks Barnaby, I'm glad someone told me now instead of later. I'm guessing the city isn't near the war?

[Yeah, he's glad he said something too, if only because it could have been a problem for everyone if something did come up, and Korra was the only one in the dark about it.]

Not at the moment, no. Since we don't stay in one place for very long, though, it's difficult to know how long that will last.

[As far as she's known, she never left the city. And it's not like the city's going to just sprout legs and walk around.]

[Oh dear. Did no one tell her anything? Maybe she needs to think about finding a different set of friends who won't forget to mention important information.]

Well, because we're technically on the back of a giant turtle, I imagine the city goes wherever the turtle goes.

[Yes, he is aware of how ridiculous this all sounds.]

I'm not, but I admit I would have been surprised if you'd immediately taken my word for it. Still, it's all common knowledge here, so verifying the story for yourself shouldn't be too difficult.

[Either he's got an incredible poker face or they really are in a city on the back of a giant turtle. So far though, Korra just can’t really see him as the joking around type.]
