(His new ring will be immediately visible, the color swirling ominously - here, a shade of emerald green and there, inky black. It never settles; never stills. The silver too is cold - almost antiquated in design - and it wraps around a pale, slender finger that does not look wholly human.)
I wonder what spell was used to create such exquisite technology? (There is something pleasing about his voice - the way he pitches it perhaps. His tone invites others to listen.) I am uncomfortable showing my face, so you must settle for my voice, I'm afraid.
(He has taken certain precautions - raising his hood for one and tilting the feed so that only his chest can be seen.)
My world isn't terribly different from this one. We have great dragons, yet your turtle would dwarf them all!
(A shift in tone - this one hinting at amusement.)
I can only respect a power that was able to take me from my world and show me another. Yet I was...busy...you see. Terribly busy. What will become of my work?
I am more than happy to lend my aid - (Here, his voice hardens the slightest bit for a listener with keen ears.) However isn't it kinder to ask first?
(No, no, don't ignore the way your stomach dropped. That is a chilling amount of anger behind those friendly words.)

I don't think kindness was at the forefront of Eshai's mind when she summoned us here.
[Her voice is pleasant, almost amused in tone and holds no hint of fear.]
As for your work, well...
[She laughs lightly.]
It will be there when you get back, so don't worry too much.
Video
Was it necessity, then? (Do not tell him it was "on a whim".) Worry? I never entertain such a useless emotion.

It seems more biological tech than proper magitech. Not your area of expertise, I take it?
As for your work, whatever that entails, fret not. You'll be put back in whatever moment you were plucked from - none the wiser, at that, if rumours are correct.
[Video]
(He rolls his shoulders, expelling tension and keeping his patience.)
I see. I have to wonder, then, what is the point of being here in the first place?

video;
I've learned, especially since being here, that many live by the phrase "better to beg forgiveness than ask permission". [Conveniently left out: that "many" includes himself.] Evastelei's spell is one such thing.
If you have questions, I'd be happy to answer them. I've been here for years. And in that time I have even returned to visit my world, to see the completion of my own work through. [And it is REGRET.]
video;
Do not say Dumbledore. Do not.)I do not adhere to that phrase. Forgiveness should never be given easily. (He certainly doesn't dispense it without good reason.) I do not hear this Evastelei begging.
(Yet.)
I find my powers...weakened. Is that a common effect?

I wish they had asked me, but they didn't...I don't think they ask anyone. They did tell me that I'd go back at the same time I left, though, so that's good. I was in the middle of something, too, and I'm really worried about my friends.
[To redirect from the anger:] You have dragons where you come from? That's so cool! I've never seen a dragon.
video;
Yes, I too am worried for my...friends. (Minions, cohorts, Death Eaters... It's all the same thing, right?)
They are mighty beasts, though I prefer Basilisks myself.

[video] this guy was a 90s kid; how do you feel about him being canon familiar?
his voice is neutral, if a bit wry.]
Your work'll still be there. When you go back, it'll be like no time passed at all.
[video] That's fine. But until Voldemort shows his face/goes without a Glamor, it won't be...
Small favors. (There is a small shift - or is that a shadow?) If they had interrupted fully, recklessly, I would not have shown mercy.
[video] makes total sense!

Many of us were busy at the time we were taken. It is regrettable, but this place is not without power and knowledge to be gained. As others before you, you might yet find it worthwhile, unwelcome as the kidnapping is.

Hi, Emperor.)I wonder what I have to learn about such a place? Magic has taught me much; it is difficult for me to imagine this land compensating me for my...absence.

Better to ask forgiveness than permission. But you'll find, darling, that your business is of no concern to the person who brought us here.
Video
That is the second time I have heard such a ridiculous sentiment. (His followers know they either better run or grovel for their lives rather than ask for forgiveness. He won't give it without damn good reason.)
As far as I know, they are dead. Their concerns are over.

[The feed activates to someone sitting at a workbench somewhere, tapping away at a laptop. Something is dismantled beside him, and it's clear he just reached over and slapped the controls on the nearest console.
His voice is Australian-accented, a little annoyed.]
Who knows? It could have just been invented.

From what I understand, when you eventually go home, it will ba as if you never left, monsieur. You don't have to worry about that.
Did you say you had dragons?
Video
Small favors. (Those words are hollow.) I did. Many breeds, too, though the most aggressive - and therefore dangerous - breed would be the Hungarian Horntail.

(The shadows shift and one of the pale hands reaches for what looks like...a bone?)
Manners can be taught.
[video]
Have a polite smile.]
I think many of us have work back home that we need to get back to. Fortunately, when we do return, it's as though no time has passed, so you should just be able to pick up where you left off.
[video]
Since his face cannot be seen, Tim will have to guess whether that smile is returned or not.)
I did not expect her to be so...kind. She still did not ask and that is troublesome.
