[Compared to Jehan's last post a week or so ago, he looks much better. He's slept, he's eaten, and he's up for trying to interact with people again. He smiles a bit shyly when the feed clicks on, blushing as he usually is]

I wanted to apologize if my...behavior last month upset anyone. I was not feeling well and wasn't thinking clearly. I hope that anyone I upset or worried can forgive me. Ah...and I wanted to thank everyone who offered assistance. I am--it was greatly appreciated.

[Understatement of the centuries. This is followed by some private messages, all of which are absurdly easy to crack. The guy's from 1832. He's just happy he can make the private.]

[Have a dragon nose pressed up against the screen. Temeraire stares worriedly at the poet for a moment before he relaxes a little, apparently slightly mollified by what he sees.]

I am relieved to see you are feeling better; I was worried the rationing would only make things worse.

No, the rationing has not bothered me in the slightest. It is...I am not used to it, but it really isn't all that bad.

I cannot see how it can possibly be enough food for a week; only let me know if you require anything to supplement it, and I can bring you some fish. Whatever disease has affected the turtle has yet to move past its shores.

Well, I am sure you did not mean to, but you did; it is not as if it was your fault, at all, but I rather wish there were something I cold have done--

[He breaks off suddenly, brightening a little.] That reminds me; I have something I should like to give you. Are you at home at present?

Oh, fish would be lovely. The shops are charging a fortune for it. If you don't mind, I'd happily pay you for some.

[He's confused by Temeraire's question, but he nods]

[During his descent into withdrawal, Jehan has been one of the few mildly helpful few--those who were willing to provide him with what he needed. Even if it had only lasted him little more than a day. Still, that doesn't keep Grantaire from being short with him.]

I don't think you could truly shut yourself away if you tried, Jehan. There's too much of the poet in you, striving to release feeling and receive attention.

[And Jehan knows that Grantaire is not well, he is not taking the lack of wine well at all, but it's a bit hard not to take his shortness personally regardless.

Still he smiles a bit. And flips it to private, just in case.]

Release feeling, perhaps, but I am not one for too much attention.

[The look that Grantaire gives his friend is dry and highly doubtful.]

And what is a release of feelings if not an attempt to share them with the world that doesn't give a damn enough to ask. You may play the meek boy, Jehan, but I've seen you scream and shout in fury, and pontificate about your opinion on whatever and whatever.

That does not mean I seek out attention for myself, Grantaire. If I was, I would be an actor and not a poet. I will admit that I seek attention for what is right or to bring crimes to light, but not for myself.

I...I am still not quite myself, but I'm glad I am not sick anymore as well. It's never an enjoyable experience.
