[Midii's lips were pursed together in concentration when the screen turned on, eyes turned downward.  The tip of a writing utensil could be seen moving as she jotted down one last note before looking up.]

Something was brought to my attention recently.  I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner, but it could be really important.

Allergies.

Is there anyone here who has them?  Of things from home, or maybe of something you've realized you're allergic to here.  Plants...food...metals...I'm curious to know.

[Video | Radio] - #8

[ Hey, fellow Turtle-dwellers! Have a smiling, yet curious, Sheena appear on your screens. ]

Hello, everyone! Does anyone know if there's a weaponsmith who makes bows? [ Yep. Sheena knows how to use one! ] It's been a while since I've used one, and I'd really like to get back to that.

[ She starts to cut the feed, then stops. ]

And if anyone knows where I can target practice, that would be great!

Thanks!

Hey, everybody. I'm turning... twenty one? Twenty two? Have we decided how we're counting that year in the Dreaming yet?

Anyway, I'm having a party at my place. Everybody's welcome. Even if you don't like me, I do have a lot of ice cream. Just putting that out there.

[Attached is his address in the Sky Sector, and the date and time.

Some Foreigners – specifically, Aya, Raine, Jackie, Bucky, Valdis, Danny, Sonja and Miles – will also receive individual texts, consisting of an ASCII art birthday cake, a smiley face, and a link to this video message. Cute.]

[ Waking in a new world was definitely not something Marinette expected to greet her when she opened her eyes. On the plus side, she had her belongings with her - even Tikki, though the kwami seemed very groggy and tired. She reassured Marinette she'd be fine, it wasn't like when she got sick back then, so Marinette let the kwami sleep and devoted her attention to finding out where she was and exactly what was going on. Cut to about...two hours later, when she accesses the network, her mind spinning with the information she'd been given. ]

[ She probably found her way to one of the console cafe's honestly, but she presents herself with a polite smile (if a little bit awkward). ]
[ She pauses, as something occurs to her. Her first option should have been making her way to that Welcome Center to stay, but she had prioritized getting Tikki some food instinctively. Hopefully it'd help the kwami recover. ]

I'll ... probably be at this cafe for a little bit longer, but I really should have a look around soon too.

[ She'd totally doesn't think anyone from home is here either. She hesitates a moment to consider her topics, and finally settles on one. ]

So, I guess I'll be seeing you all around! If you've got any suggestions of places to take a look at, I'm open to ideas.

[ She needed to get her bearings in this place after all, especially with what's been going on. Once from the ground.. and then once from the air, when Tikki was recovered. Before ending her connection though, she grins and flashes a cheerful V'sign. Peace Out? ... so lame, Marinette. ]

I...apologize if this message comes at an inconvenient time for some--[Aya was well aware of the many ongoing events of the present, and the tension resulting from those involved in just one, let alone multiple]--but...

I wish to better understand the concept of embracing one's negative emotions.  Anger.  Hatred.  Rage.  Sadness.  How one is best able to do so, and what motivations drive an individual towards them.

[It was here that Aya's normally emerald hue briefly flickered a more bluish-green.  Not the blue of Saint Walker's Blue Lantern light, but a much darker shade  The blue was gone as quickly as it appeared, however, before Aya finished her thought.]

Most of all, I would like to know if the...pain...is ultimately worth it.

video; locked to foreigners

All right. By now we've all heard about the new Guild structure, and how if we don't choose a kedan-operated Guild, we'll be sent into the Foreigners Guild by default. Thanks to Sonja for bringing up some options about how to handle the Foreigners Guild structure. [He nods a little in acknowledgment.]

How many of us are going to choose to integrate into the structure of the city proper? I'm strongly considering it, and I think the rest of us should, too. Of course, the Foreigners Guild is important as well, but we won't get anywhere if we stay insular. We're a part of the city, for better or worse, until the spell that's holding us here dissolves, if it ever does. We may as well make nice with our gracious hosts.

[After getting the lowdown from a rather nice lady, a very annoyed-looking young woman is staring balefully at the camera.]

Are you serious.

Are you serious.

Because people keep explaining this Life-Death-Dreaming thing to me and it sounds like bullshit. There are two planes I can be on and I’m apparently not on either of them and that is so much bullshit I have apparently been dropped into the former pasture of a hekatomb of oxen because what the hell.

Look. Look at this. [She holds up her journal with a helpful diagram of a stick figure, a vertical line, and another stick figure, and a double-sided arrow.] My soul can be Waking, or it can be Otherside, or it can occasionally be both at the same time because my life is a dumpster fire. Not this, okay? [She puts the journal down, raises her hand, and taps the labradorite ring she’s wearing.] My soul is not in a rock. Even if it’s a really pretty rock, and I know from pretty rocks.

[Frustratedly:] Like, oh my gods. Every single god I have ever met. All of them. Up to and including Inari-Ōkami. For the love of baby Jesus in his mangery crib. Put me back. I want to speak to the manager. Yeah. The spell manager.

Fix this, Obama.

[ Here's a face you haven't seen on the consoles in a while, Keeliai. In fact, it's been about 15 months, and he's looking (if you can see him) plain gobsmacked. ]

Uh. Please tell me someone's been messing with the date feature on the consoles.

[ And then under his breath: ]

Or I'm in major trouble.

[handset | video] one love, one life (backdated to 3/5 or so)

[The video flips on to show Erskine, gorgeous as always, and actually not looking dog-tired for once! In fact, he's smiling. This is possibly the happiest Erskine has looked on the network while sober.

...which probably has to do with the attractive redhead hovering in the background. Those who've seen Erskine's echo stone will recognize Hopeless. Those who haven't might recognize the man Erskine's been attached at the hip to for the last couple of weeks.]

Right, hello everyone. So, Hopeless had a question--

[The redhead in the background scoffs gently.]

Alright, we had a question. How old are all you Foreigners out there? We're interested in age demographics. You can be vague if you like, and you don't have to answer of course.

And in the spirit of sharing, I... missed my last birthday. It was in February. Which I suppose makes me 409 now.

[With the general feeling of deep unhappiness this Christmas has brought to him, and then the loss of Marinette- Adrien has been unusually absent from the network lately - and the city in general, truth be told. He's done his shifts in the healer's guild, and then at night donned the mask and done his police work, but he hasn't really done much socialising. He realises he'd make himself the recluse his father wants him to be, if he keeps this up, so here he is. ]

Hi guys. Sorry I've been quiet lately, it's been- uh. It's just been one of those months. I'm okay, though, promise!

[That's a bare-faced lie and he knows it. Still, he's rather an expert in faking it, so he gives a soft laugh, rubbing the back of his head.]

Weather's been freaky lately, huh? I was kinda expecting us to be three foot deep in snow by now. Still, if anyone needs some place to stay while it's like this or longer, there's a spare room in my place.

[Please someone live with him, he's so horribly lonely. He's stalled enough, though, and now it comes to one of the main reasons he made this broadcast in the first place.]

This is a weird question. But if you learned something here that you probably shouldn't know, is there any way of unknowing it? I know there's a lot of magic here, so I was wondering if anyone knew a way of making someone forget something. Just a specific something, not like...whole memories or anything like that. I appreciate anyone who's got an idea on that.

Thank you.

016 ≠ ( RADIO )

[ Following the aftermath of this, and after an aggravated tirade at one unconscious form of I told you so the whole way back into the city, a thoroughly harassed-sounding Bakura keys up the radio handsets. ]

Valdis is unavailable for the immediate and foreseeable future. Yes, I know what happened and yes, I warned her of the risks beforehand.

There is a reason the phrase is 'know thyself'.

[ private to Raine and Fletch; ]

Seba-rekhet, senwinaw, I don't know which of your skills will be better suited, but if one or both of you could reassemble her, that would be fine.

Voice:

Uh, hey. This is Mark Watney again.

I was thinking about something and considering the circumstances, it's probably not anywhere near important, but I was thinking about time. Earth time, to be specific... not sols or anything involving that temperamental red jerk that Mars is.

(He pauses.)

Okay, to be very specific...because not all of us are from the same place, yet alone the same damn version of Earth...

In any case, you know, if we're going by the passage of time here... I'm another year older today.  I think.

(Pausing again.)

You know what, let's just go with it. I didn't get a real birthday minus the crew singing at me the last go around.

Video/Console:

 Oh, hey...this log...

I don't have to do that here, do I? Well, alright, that makes things slightly easier and less formal, but I guess I have to explain things again... (Not like he has been formal or proper in any of his past logs, anyway?)  So, the name's Mark Watney and I'm deciding to go with the quick explanation, so if something doesn't make sense - just ask, I don't want to have to try to think of every single thing right now...

Basically, where I'm from...that version of Earth, anyway... we've been going to Mars for a little while, about 2 missions completed and mine and then at least two more after that - if they don't cancel the missions - and basically a series of weird circumstances happened coupled with a set of weird circumstances that somehow lead to me surviving - I got myself stuck on Mars. Yeah, stuck. They thought I was a dead man, but nooooo  I have to like a cat with the whole nine lives thing. Or a zombie. Or some other thing... zombie would be pretty sweet, though. But not like the whole romantic comedy type.

(Mark actually tries to chuckle and manages it but he's just going to sit there and wince at the same time. Note to anyone who asks? Body slamming a detached airlock hurts after the third time, same with being thrown around like a rag doll - do not recommend if you can avoid it.) In any case, I was kind of in the middle of a situation before I woke up here and my face plate kind of got f....messed up.  Sh...crap, it's not sinking in that I don't have that thing here with me. It's back in the rover. That's going to be really, really bad if I figure out how to get out of here and back to the red dusted hellhole.

(He frowns.)
Well, at least it was sealed, I guess and even if I come up with a plan it's not like I'm gonna remember it, anyway, right? (But, what else is he going to do? Sit and twiddle his thumbs all day? Nah, that just sounds lame.)

In any case, you have no idea how glad I am that there are other people here. No idea at all.

(It hasn't been a day at a carnival, that's for sure.)

[ console; video ]

[He had spent the better portion of the day wandering around the city. Ducking and diving between crowds of people, and doing his best to stay out of the spotlight - which was far harder than he'd like to admit being a 'foreigner' decked out in futuristic space armor.

Needless to say, after having spent a good few hours gathering intel and having a constant stream of people talking to him about what to expect while he was stuck here (among other things), being able to sit down was a small blessing in and of itself. Something that those watching the camera's feed might be able to pick up on, as the ODST carefully leaned back in his chair, and stared up at the cafe's ceiling with a lengthy sigh.
]

"Can't say I'm pleased to be here, but it's an upgrade from magical books." [Then again, giant turtles aren't really swinging in the opposite direction. Something he knows, but he'll hold his tongue on that.]

"Would say I'm impressed by how you guys have this whole welcoming stuff down to a science, but I'm still trying to comprehend most of it. Even then, there's usually a lot more going on than what's on the complimentary pamphlet."

[It's then that his visor lowers towards the screen, and a tick of silence passes by, before he's shifting forwards to properly address those behind it.]

"So, straight to the point; is there anything around here that I should be wary of? Threats, dangers, etcetera."

Video / Console

So, I made soda.

[Who wants to be a guinea pig member of a focus group? Peter has soda.]

I've made it in a variety of flavours, native and otherwise, and I've even managed to brew something similar to stuff back home.

[Does anyone want a can of Smoca-Smola? Please don't sue.]

I've tested all of them myself, so they're not poisonous, but I have used all natural ingredients, so if you're allergic to the thing, don't drink the thing.

Oh, and this focus group? Foreigners only for now. Just in case something bad does happen.

[A pause.]

I mean, it won't? But... Just in case, y'know. Also, 18+. I don't do experimenting on kids.

[Yes, Peter is bored, so he made soda.]

(Console | Video)

(The continent had not wasted his time; not utterly. A pale serpent is a lovely gift for any Parseltongue and the hand that strokes her head is gentle - a quality Lord Voldemort shows no one else.)

The journey might have been worthwhile simply to meet you. (He speaks in the hissing language that separates those of Slytherin's blood-line from many other Witches and Wizards.

What might shock those watching is... The serpent hisses back, looking up at, presumably, his face (though he keeps his features cloaked and hidden).)

As the Turtle awakens, its power grows exponentially. I am intrigued by its origin. Was it born thus?

No matter. I have sought and taken Magic before. I shall do so again.

(Perhaps traveling to another world will not be a waste at all. He grins to himself as he imagines everyone in his world falling at his feet in obeisance.)

The words are back as they were. This is good.

I wish to ask - is there a way to cut magic out? I have...

...

[She looks away from the screen, gripping her upper arm, fingers digging painfully in.]

I do not want it in me any more. I want it cut away. Gone.

Is there a way?

003; Console; Video

[The video opens up to a strange-looking, almost derelict building. It's still standing, but looks like it hasn't been used for years. It's a little weird there would be a console there at all, honestly. But here one is. Adrien looks pretty confused as to why he's here, too. Like this isn't the place he expected to wake up today. Which...is actually pretty accurate.]

Uh. Hi everyone. I think Anton is playing a practical joke on us again. Though...I hope my bed shows up again at some point. Waking up on the floor wasn't what I'd call super fun. It's actually less fun than waking up on the ceiling, for those taking score.

[A little bit of Chat-attitude is slipping out there, but he doesn't correct it. He has other things to deal with; another reason for coming on the console. He's already lost Solomon, someone he genuinely looked up to, thought the world of, and now.... For for the briefest of moments, something like pain crosses his face. He quickly replaces it with that pleasant countenance of his. Adrien deals with loss so much, he can wear it like a backpack. It's easier in the long run not to let it show how deep it hurts. Or rather, that's what he's been raised to believe. As such, his voice is steady, as he delivers his news.]

Marinette Dupain-Cheng has gone home, for those that knew her.

[He imagines there are some. Marinette is a friendly girl. Still, he doesn't want people worrying about her, or worse; HIM. He still can't manage a smile, but he quickly adds:]

It's a good thing. She'll be happier and safer back home. Her family are there, and her best friend. It's where she belongs. So it's...good.

[Still hurts, though. She was a real and honest link to home. Someone he knew, someone who knew him. They lived in the same city, saw the same crazy stuff, they were friends. And yet...he feels relieved too. It means he doesn't have to worry about her learning he's Chat. Is it wrong he should be relieved about that? It feels...selfish. It doesn't sit right with him. ]

I just thought you might want to know.

video;

Seems like there's been a lot going on during the couple of months since I got here - good things. New ideas, beginnings. I've also had the pleasure of talking to several of you who've been here for awhile yourselves. Most have talked about Keeliai like it's home now.

[Steve smiles at that word, but there's something almost sad about it. 'Home' will always be a complicated subject for him.]

I just celebrated my first birthday here, but I think it might take a bit longer to feel that way to me. I do have an idea that I think might help. I wanted to talk to those of you who've opened businesses here, get some advice. I have an idea for something, and a heck of a partner, but I haven't exactly amassed a fortune. [Where's a genius billionaire playboy philanthropist when you need one. He sighs, but when the little bird nearby starts to sing, his spirits are lifted again.] As much as going in debt goes against my better judgment, it's an option I'm willing to consider to get the ball rolling. The question is, is there any place that even gives loans to Foreigners?

Until then, if anyone needs some one-on-one training, I've got the time for it. Unless you'd rather be trained by the three-time YMCA welterweight boxing champ.

[He knows you used to pull your punches, Barnes. Steve doubts that he will the next time. His smile turns a little bit sly before he ends the feed.]

[voice]

I was wondering...how many other people here can speak other languages?

[But then, she paused and there was a slight jostling of the camera as she shook her head.  Sorting out her thoughts.]

No,  not speak.  That doesn't really help any, with everything always being translated for us.  More like...read.  I was wondering...what languages everyone here can read?  Since written words have never been translated.  Not since I've been here.
