Second Post [Video]
[Sabriel looks exhausted, but there's a certain note of satisfaction in her voice as she speaks.]
Atam was... interesting. I found several rather interesting things there. [Two of them are laid out behind her- a trident and a sword.] Including two books of Charter Magic from my own world. The shopkeeper said he simply found them one day, which brings me to my next point. [A brief look of anxiety comes over Sabriel's face, and her tone becomes something between a student giving a presentation and a teacher giving a lecture.]
I know the kedan are unfriendly, and that many here cannot defend themselves. Since I was a child, I have been taught how to wield a sword, and was tutored at my school in the basics of sorcery, and I want to share that knowledge with those who may need it to protect themselves.
[And Sabriel's long white fingers trace a glowing symbol in the air- the mark for light, to be specific, and lets it collapse into a bright pinpoint of light, illuminating the room.]
Charter Magic is not a toy, and can be a powerful tool in the hands of the skilled- a tool to harm, create, heal... or do many other things, if you know the correct symbols and have the power to use them properly.
[Sabriel lets herself relax a little.]
If anyone has any questions or would like a further demonstration, I would be happy to answer any such request here. And I have one inquiry of my own- is there any business in Keeliai that will hire foreigners?
[ooc: More info here (And please comment so I can keep track of how many people have already signed up) and here, for more info. Comment in either entry for ooc questions!]

That trident looks extremely familiar, and now that it's out of the city, he can feel it in a way, faint, under his skin.]
You found something of yours there, then? From home?

I found a few other odd things in a junk shop as well.

Assuming he can wheedle it off her. If not, he's already forming backup plans in the back of his mind to grab Mera and Kaldur and retrieve it in the name of Atlantis.]
I believe, then, that you've found something of mine. I'd be happy to reimburse you for whatever you paid for it.

I would be curious to know more.

To learn Charter magic, you must first undergo a baptism- To place a mark on your brow. [Sabriel pushes some of her hair away to show the faint mark on her own forehead.] And establish a connection to the Charter.

[He leans forward to examine the mark, wondering how it would look on him. It's a serious thing, to ask a d'Angeline to consider marking their own face. But it is not very visible, and it would allow him to learn magic.] Is it always able to be seen so?

Can you use it to keep people from dying if they get hurt real bad?
[ She's clearly thinking of someone in particular. Gert may be dead, but Rikki got hurt the other night, and so did Victor even if he has a healing power, and she really doesn't want to lose anybody else like Miss Olivia or Tommy or Rikki or anybody. ]

[Sabriel can definitely spot the question in the girl's tone, though.]
Is someone hurt?

[Amelia's eyes immediately brighten at the point of light.]
Sabriel-san does that kind of magic too?
[She knew they'd talked about necromancy, but not so much this.]

But he won't say he's not a little interested.]

I understand your intent and while I do think it's a very good idea that people are able to defend themselves, arbitrarily handing out magic might not be the best way to go about it. You don't know how it will be used or why. And if these people return home and retain the magic, you have no idea how it will affect their native world. It's a-- sort of Prime Directive oversight.
I mean, I don't object to it outright, I think it's a very useful idea, but there's a lot more to consider than simple supply and demand.

Oliver. Light/fire, sedative effects? Can you listen to conversations at a distance?
Try Wayne or Stark. They're the big ones.

This is something that one of them should probably keep an eye on, and - well, she can't deny that she's also just a little bit curious about what it'd be like to have magic.]
You can really teach people to use magic? [Because despite everything, she's still pretending to be from a normal world, to keep herself seperate from the Batgirl identity.]
And, um, I know Wayne and Stark both have businesses here, and I think they both employ a bunch of people. There's also Fav-- Well, Alcuin's clothier, now, where I work, but I doubt we're hiring at the moment.
[While Alcuin is still figuring things out.]

What are their addresses? I'll ask both of them if they have any way to employ me.
perma alla that
As for addresses, she attaches them both, as well as console numbers for Bruce and Tony, and sends it in a file to Sabriel.]
Wayne's less likely to hit on you, for the record. If that's a concern you have about employers.
[She just doesn't like Tony.]
