[Hello, Keeliai. You are being graced with the presence of one incredibly bored-looking but extremely attractive gentleman, sitting with boneless grace in the chair in front of the computer console and picking his nails. He looks up after a moment, allowing a small but not very sincere smile to cross his face.]

If I can pry you all away from what I’m sure are ultimately fulfilling lives for a moment, I’d like to know if anyone’s seen a woman by the name of October Daye. You’ll know her by the disasters that happen in her immediate vicinity, and by the way she chases after them without a care for common sense or reason.

[He pauses, then shrugs and continues with the next question.] And while I'm here, does anyone know when the next chance to chat with this so-called Emperor will be? I asked our hosts, but they didn't seem to be all that forthcoming.

So I gotta hand it to myself, this is one heckuva hallucination I've dreamed up.

[The face on the screen is young; he could probably pass as sixteen or seventeen still, though in reality he just turned twenty. The way he sits, the expression on his face, he's not trying to act any older - people let their guards down for teenagers, mostly, and he can use that to his advantage. His brown hair is combed neatly in a vaguely old-fashioned style, and what's visible of his shoulders are clad in something that could be US military - though, circa WWII if you would recognize something like that. He seems a little... bored? almost, leaning on his hand, elbow on the desk in one of the little cafes. He's already spoken to Toro, but he's still not sure he believes the whole story the kedan are feeding him.]

I'm guessin' I'm in a VA hospital somewhere, drugged outta my gourd. Might not have lost my looks in that grenade blast if the nurses are givin' me the good stuff. [His smile is easy, charming, that winning Bucky Barnes smile he's so known for. The 'grenade blast' is an obvious lie to anyone who might have heard of him in the modern day, not that he knows that, but he's trying to figure out if anyone else is here that he knows, trying to get some answers about what's really going on.] Shapeshifters, a city on a turtle, an' a 'world between life, death, and dreaming', what'll the morphine cook up next? Even these video talk consoles, bet the Army would love to go runnin' with that idea. Hey, if this is my drug-induced coma, my unit's prob'ly here somewhere, so hey, you see 'em, tell 'em Private James Barnes is lookin' for those guys. Especially you, Rogers, you big lug.

[Toro is a bit haggard from waking up from what he last remembered and finding himself in the grand hall of some other world—really, other dimensions? And here he had thought he’d never see one for himself—but not knowing how he had gotten there. The kedan had explained some to him, but they couldn’t tell him what had happened to Pappy. He sits in the chair in front of the console and works on figuring out how the computer works because it’s not like the ones he knows. Everything is just—too different. But if he’s here, maybe someone else he knows is, too. He's lucky he figured out how to work the radio-computer-camera-thing. Even if it took an hour...or two.]

Guess now I can check “traveling to another dimension” off my list of things to do before I retire. [Have a guy who looks like he’s barely into adulthood—just don’t judge the book by its cover. He runs his hand through his hair, his laugh is a bit awkward, tired.] “Get stuck on another world” wasn’t on there, but you learn to deal with the curveballs.

Torch, if you’re here, too, give me a yell, okay? [He really wants to make sure he’s okay. He doesn’t know what happened to him after they were both sprayed with that chemical. There was a fog, like he was seeing everything in a haze and couldn’t do anything about it. Torch—he doesn’t know what they did to him.]

To everyone else…Name’s Toro—not that probably means much to anybody here if we are all from a bunch of different worlds—and it’s a…really something to be here. I didn’t even know they could get computers this small and still make ‘em do anything worthwhile. Keep expecting to find a room that’s got the real one hidden somewhere and this one is just for show.

[A young man in a bright yellow and blue costume turns on his webcam and stares blankly at the screen for a moment before beginning to speak.]

So uh, I figured I should meet the new neighbors since I'm stuck here and I've been told this is the best way to do it. Hi, my name's... [He reaches up to touch the fabric around is ear.] Invincible. Jeez I really have to stop getting so used to wearing the costume, forgot if it was on or not.

...

Does anyone happen to know if this In-Between place is like a multiverse thing or something, if you know what that is? I'm trying to get a sense of my bearings and the Kedan weren't exactly very helpful.

Uh... Not that they aren't already being ridiculously helpful right now what with giving me a room and some money and all that...

[He tugs at the back of his hair and sighs.]

Can someone do me a favor and tell me again that I can't just wake up or fly out of here? The Kedan must have told me about 20 times but I figure I need to hear it at least 20 more before I start to believe it.

Thanks... and sorry this got depressing fast.

[And with that he quickly turns the camera off before he can further make a fool out of himself.]
