Hi. My name’s. Korra. I’m the Avatar.

[There’s an awkward pause before she says her name. The cadence in her words is a bit off, a combination of never using the network before (or not that she can recall) and the unknown expectation of who will answer.]

Some of you may know me, I guess?

[Guh, she hates trying to cover it and just tackles the heart of the message.]

Look. I can’t remember anything since I was ghosted. [Or whatever the hell people are calling it.] Not this city, this turtle, or anyone.

But a doctor said that if I just hang around familiar things and people, even scents, then it might help me remember some things. I just, can’t force myself to remember them. So if you recognize me or know something else that could help I’d be grateful.

I hope so. But this map should help out a lot. [Then she realizes that she kind of needs the actual paper itself.]

The console can’t send that, can it? [The question is sarcastic or mocking, it’s genuine since she really has no idea what these things are fully capable of.]

Er--no. [Yeah, he should have thought of that a bit sooner... hm...

Well, to be fair, its not a hard problem to fix.]

I can come over and pass it to you, if you don't mind. That or we can meet somewhere and I'll pass it over all the same. [Tiny smile.] I can even throw in a free meal, if that makes it easier.

[Oh no, food. Her weakness.]

Sure, we can do the easy route. Point out where to on the map and I'll have Naga find it.

[Food is always the best way to make a good impression, Rory has learned.]

Uh--how about here? [Points to a spot somewhere in the Earth sector area.] It's got some really nice dishes.

[Squinting for only a moment when she puts to her memory banks, since there’s a lot of vacancy there now, Korra nods.]

That works for me. I’ll head over there whenever you’ve got time. [She’s actually pretty hungry after going through all the responses on the network. Who knew losing your memory could result in so much of this stuff?

Not this girl.]

[Hey, it's all good. Rory can kind of understand. All this brainpower does take quite a bit of energy.]

Well, how about later, then? Dinner, or something?

[...at least you should know what dinner is, right?]

[Beat.]

Uh, I have a boyfriend by the way.

[At least, that’s what she was told by alleged boyfriend.]

Uh--okay.

[Why is she telling that to him--oh wait.]

Oh, um. I'm already married. Just so you know.

[He won't try anything weird okay gosh why would you even think that. ~~Besides Amy would never forgive him.~~]

[That perks her right up.]

Awesome! You're the first married person I've met. [If she had her memories, that would be a lie because her parents, but for now it’s the truth.]

I'll see you there for dinner then!

[First person or not, its not like its a really amazing thing. Sure, Amy is wonderful and everything, but loads of people are married... right...?

Anyway.]

[After trying to learn mahjong from Clark and playing airball with Aang, Korra arrives a little late. It doesn't help that she somehow ended on the wrong side of the Earth Sector and had to steer Naga around traffic.

Which for the first time is fun, and scary. Like a roller coaster with no straps.]

Hey Rory, sorry I'm late. [She's wearing her usual clothes, and she's rather proud of herself for remember Rory's name after having a pretty active afternoon.]

Until then.

[Rory, on the other hand, busies himself for the rest of the day, not really giving the dinner too much thought until the time comes. And once it does Rory prepares himself easily, dressing up in a casual attire before he goes over to where he's supposed to meet her.

He's a bit early, but he tends to be early for most things and Rory is a patient man, so when Korra finally does come he's hardly that concerned about it. If anything, he's glad that she came - and remembered his name as well, for that matter.

Although the polar dog bear is kind of a new thing. But Rory has seen far stranger things even before coming to this place.]

Hello, Korra. [Smiles in a very gentlemanly and totally honest manner.] And don't worry about it, I wasn't waiting for too long. I hope your day was alright?

Yeah, I had some fun! [Something she really needed.] I think I really like sports. [Just as she looks to Naga to tell her to sit, the polar bear dog plops down and seems content to wait.]

Huh. Guess she’s really trained. [To Rory:] Come on, let’s go in. I’ve worked up an appetite.

[She even made sure to bring extra juulan just in case.]

Liking sports is great; exercise is pretty important.

[Stares a bit at the polar bear dog still... yeah, he can't get used to that. Is it a turtle thing? It looks like it belongs to the turtle thing.

He's also going to not try and speculate on the 'she's trained' comment for the sake of his own sanity.]

Alright. [Gestures to the place, smiling still.] After you.

Thanks. [Korra makes her way inside and takes the table right near the window. For some reason, being able to see Naga felt important.]

I think exercise was one of my things too. Either that or someone left a lot of gym equipment in my suite.

[But to more important things.]

What kind of food do they have here?

[Well Rory is not fussy about where he seats as long as it means he can, well, sit. So no worries at all.

He settles down easily, a wry smile still on his face as Korra remarks about her suite. Its not that hard to imagine her as the type who exercises, really, especially considering her build. She does look well-built for her age.]

Uh-- [What kind of food, she asks...] --normal food? [One thing is for sure though: it ain't British.] Its edible at least, so there's something.

[Not knowing what she likes and doesn’t like makes it hard to even decide on something, so:] I’ll just have what you’re having then.

[Trial and error? Maybe she isn’t a picky eater.]

[Well, that's fair.]

Alright. [With a nod, Rory calls over for the waiter and gets them two of the usual. Once the waiter is gone Rory instantly gets down to business, taking out the map he drew earlier and passing it over to Korra.]

Can you get burned in the Fire Sector? [There’s fire fountains there, or so she’s heard, and that just sounds like a mess waiting to happen.]

[Uh.]

Er--no, last time I checked.

[Where did you even get that idea??]

[Fire always burns stuff, she hasn't forgotten that part. But she nods, it's something she wants to bend now.]

So how much for the map? [Not everything's free, right?]

[And here Rory blinks. How much? Was he supposed to ask for a price? Its not like he really wants anything in return...]

I, uh, no. You don't need to pay for it. [Raises a hand here.] Don't worry about it.

Alright, I'm not about to turn down free art.

[Memories or not, Korra's usually got some extra snark to throw around. As she's looking it over, tracing her finger along the paths drawn out, she looks up.]

How long have you been here? [Because being able to draw a map from memory is pretty darn good in her book.]

[Free... art? Rory blinks for a moment here, not sure if he should take that as a compliment or not--but that is soon forgotten when Korra then moves on to another question.]

Well, a couple of months--not long like other people, but long enough to be used to this place by now, I guess.

[She only gives a smile at the blink. Playful compliment.]

I don't think I could ever get used to this whole- [Hand gesture.] turtle thing.
