[Hello, Turtle. Here is an Enjolras who looks a bit embarrassed that he's even started this late night/very early morning post, but well. The question he wants to ask IS actually a valid one, now that he has TIME to ask it, and he finds the current most popular phrases to be incredibly awkward or childish so..The hell with it. People have asked all sorts of questions here, haven't they? He's clearing his throat, flushing a little, then glancing into the vid directly and clearing his throat.]

A question, everyone.

I find that most of the current terms for one's...romantic friend...but more than such are either juvenile or not quite accurate. 'Boyfriend' for example, makes us sound as if we were children, 'Partner' has several connotations that do not immediately state the obvious and 'Lover' sounds particularly awkward.

[And well, they have not quite gotten to the lovers stage yet. Enjolras is hardly ready for it and still accustoming himself to the kissing and cuddling things that he never let himself seek out in life.]

When others here speak of the other piece of their soul as he is to me...what terms seem to work best for you?

What makes 'lover' sound awkward? It is what I have always used.

[And Delaunay certainly fits that description for him. Though he is pretty sure that isn't mutual.]

It feels...what is the word I wish to use here...illicit, I suppose, as though he were a mistress to be kept secret if I use that term. Perhaps it is a holdover from home only. I do not... I have not done this before and I confess the elements apart from loving him seem complicated.

I suspects the terms that I would use are of no useful, unless you have intentions of wedding and crowning him. But I must ask, may I have the pleasure of meeting this beloved of yours?

Curiosity, more than anything else compels me, I suppose now that I have the time and luxury to consider such things. And perhaps the questions others have been asking here of late.

Well, I cannot say I am much help, as all have my lovers have been for mutual pleasure and not 'the other piece of my soul', so to speak, and the one who would best bear that title would be impossible for me to marry, and has declined to be my lover.

But I do not see the trouble in calling him your lover.

[Impossible to marry, quite. Marriage is not something that has even occurred to Enjolras as something that two men might do. He's nodding at that part though, quite solemn there.]

It was not possible where I came from either, or more that I could not consider it then, and had my duties to something else. I would not trade those for anything, so I do know the feeling of impossibilities there. The new ones before me here...they are quite overwhelming, I suppose.

Perhaps that is why I wonder so much, if there is something I am doing wrong by not knowing entirely what to do. But thank you. This does help.

Ah, yes. I ought to have mentioned that much. It has all been so NEW to me, that I did rather forget the parts with mentioning it, but Etienne and I have become closer for a few months now.
