Without knowing the reason, he had just returned to his true age. In the few, few times before, there had always been a reason. Paikal mixed with a cold. An experimental temporary cure.
And there had always been pain. Ever since he had first been poisoned, every return to his true age had felt like dying.
This had been completely painless.
Was it possible- Could it be possible that something had neutralized the poison? Was it permanent? Or would it only last for a few minutes?
He was afraid to hope for too much. There had been far too many disappointments before.
And regardless, without knowing how long this would last, he could not keep pretending to be Conan. One person spotting him, and it would be obvious that he was both new here and bore too strong a resemblance. Despite the risk of one of them spotting him, he needed to establish his other identity here. As a new arrival would be safest. He already knew that that was a common occurrence here.
And so it is that he makes a carefully calculated post over the handset.]
