[ It's the second time a message from Kylo Ren shows up in as many months, a new record! What joy!

But this misfired text message going public by morning isn't one he would have wanted to share. ]

you're SO pretty... like SO pretty

i never say nice things to you why do i never say nice things?

i want to write a poem about your eyes and how good you fight you're really special you know that? youre light and fierceness and danger and i was awful to you I'm sorry i never said sorry before huh

[ Such is the result of sampling too much of the local brews, and then experimenting with new technology.

Kylo, enjoy your hangover with a little extra, courtesy of the malfunctioning network. ]

I've been thinking and writing some things down, and something I've wanted to ask...

What would you consider very... mm, 'defining' I suppose is the word I'm looking for? Something that you feel your reality wouldn't be the same without. Don't worry, I'll go first.

[ She flashes a knowing smile at that. ]

Certainly, there are certainly many historical events that shaped the world, but if I had to pick one that's affective to Columbia in my era would be the discovery a few decades ago of the Lutece Particle, which in turn is used to make a Lutuce Field. Another term for it is called 'quantum levitation', and it suspends atoms in mid-air by a controllable field, allowing things to be manipulated within the sphere of gravity, and to impart those effects onto other objects.

[ Someone's read The Principles of Quantum Mechanics a few too many times... ]

And that's how Columbia is an airborne city. So, I think things in my reality would be very different if that hadn't been discovered!

[It's been months since Kylo Ren made an announcement on the network, but today he does, and looks oddly pensive, withdrawn.

In the background you can catch a glimpse of a painfully generic living room, there are no personal items other than a glimpse at his infamous table of ashes.]

Lately I've had a lot of time to think, and there is something I have been wondering about. We get to meet people from other worlds, or people who are dead to us, but there is no stability to the bonds built here. Foreigners are randomly brought to this place and taken away.

Yet some of us have been here for years, they watched many come and go. How do you go about this? I dislike the uncertainty. You can't plan for anything.

So give me the skinny on these gem snatchers.

Where did they happen, who got their souls snatched and by whom?

And how did they wind up getting linked to the cultists?

This is recording, right?

[ Just because she's used slimey tech before doesn't mean she likes it. ]

Whatever. Hi, I guess?

[ You know what sucks the most about being in a new place? No one knew what her fucking name was. Do you know how goddamn hard it is to build a reputation as an interstellar badass? Now she's stuck in a hick town and the obvious smart thing to do is get to know the rest of your fellow kidnappees but wow this is such a raw deal. There's not even anyone in charge she can shoot to express her displeasure. Urge to maim, rising. ]

So I got most of the basics down or whatever. Magical bullshit. Recovering from occupation by big bad evil demon, blah blah. [ Don't care. ] I guess we're on a turtle? That's a thing.

[ She's seen planet-sized reptiles so state-sized ones are no big deal. ]

I'm The Stalk, your newest fellow prisoner. Who else is on here? I reserve the right to block you if you're too boring. There's a block button on this somewhere, right? Someone tell me where the block button is.
